Adult Spiritual Formation
Mission: To receive input from parishioners about ideas for spiritual growth; to organize and promote opportunities for intellectual and spiritual growth; to plan and execute programs to meet these needs.
Current Priorities:
• Establish a formation program in Benedictine spirituality. (already in process)
• Establish a book study/reading group. (already in process)
• Conduct a summer Adult Forum. (already in process)
• “Theology on Tap” Bar-B-Cue (planned for July 14) in conjunction with Brew Club & Parish R&R Team
• Plan a Fall study group (in process)

Christian Formation: Children & Youth
Mission: To facilitate opportunities for our youth to build a foundation of faith.
Current Priorities:
• Ensure that youth feel welcome and included across all aspects of parish life.
• Evaluate and make recommendations about Church School curriculum. (soon to be complete)
• Develop and implement a youth strategy that incorporates hiring a paid resource to enhance the spiritual and social development of our youth. (beginning to be addressed)

Communications
Mission: To promote and facilitate the timely dissemination of information in the parish and about the parish; to foster communication among Mission Teams, Vestry, parish membership, the wider Church and the world community.
Current Priorities:
• Create a parish organizational chart to clarify new parish structure. (accomplished)
• Revise current website strategy to enhance parish communication. (beginning to be addressed)
• Publish a brochure to describe our history & heritage as a parish. (still to be addressed)
• Evaluate effectiveness of current communication tools and make recommendations to Vestry. (still to be addressed)

Facility, Finance & Administration
Mission: To coordinate the physical, financial, and administrative needs of the parish and its ministries by working among Rector and staff, Mission Teams, and Vestry.
Current Priorities:
• Establish a proposed budget for 2008-2009. (in initial stages)
• Refine parish gift policy. (to be addressed this Fall)
• Revise parish investment policy & recommend to Vestry. (to be addressed this Fall)
• Evaluate parish housing, pantry, and preschool programs & make recommendations to Vestry. (to be addressed in conjunction with Social Justice & Outreach Team)
• Establish a planned giving program.
• Carry out a long term needs assessment for the facility and for financial planning.
• Ensure good communication with parishioners about parish financial needs and status. (in conjunction with Communications & Stewardship Teams)

Parish R&R
Mission: To strengthen relationships in the parish by creating opportunities for fun and fellowship.
Current Priorities:
• Plan a parish picnic. (held on June 23)
• Plan a parish Bar-B-Cue. (planned for July 14) in conjunction with Brew Club & Adult Spiritual Formation Team

Social Justice & Outreach
Mission: To coordinate, support, and evaluate the various social justice and outreach ministries of the parish.
Current Priorities:
• Establish Pantry Oversight Committee and evaluate program. (in process)
• Establish Housing Oversight Committee and evaluate program. (in process)
• Coordinate parish involvement in Family Promise, Lumen, Rummage Sale, Gift Shop, Pre-School, Sandwich Program, etc. and
evaluate. (beginning to address)

Stewardship (SHARE Program)
Mission: To invite, encourage and promote a way of life in which we use the gifts God has given us (passions, skills, financial resources) to do the work God is calling us to do.
Current Priorities:
• Update parish mailing/call list (in process)
• Identify passions and skills of parishioners to match parish needs with parishioner interests (beginning to be addressed)
• Develop ways parishioners can be involved in parish life (in conjunction with Welcoming Team)
• Identify next Team leader

Welcoming Team
Mission: To support the people of St. Paul’s in being a welcoming community who invite others to have a closer relationship with God through worship, community and discipleship.
Current Priorities:
• Develop a newcomer orientation for implementation in September.
• Schedule and conduct a newcomer social.
• Develop a pamphlet with information about parish programs, contacts, education opportunities.

Worship
Mission: To advise and work with Rector and other clergy to plan and coordinate worship that is inviting, inspiring, and inclusive of all.
Current Priorities:
• Continue formation in the underlying principles of Christian liturgy. (in process)
• Oversee the creative process leading to the selection of a new baptismal font. (in process)
• Begin proximate planning for the season of Advent. (scheduled for September)

Mission Teams Still to be Formed
Discernment
Mission: To call parishioners to baptismal and ordained ministries by identifying and supporting God’s gifts poured out among them.
Current Priorities:
• Team to form by September, 2007
• Program of study/discernment to be in place by October, 2007

Pastoral Care
Mission: To support and coordinate parish ministries to those isolated from parish life because of sickness or other circumstances in life; to plan and execute programs to meet address their needs.
Current Priorities: Team to form by Summer, 2008

Strategic Planning
Mission: To carry out a long term (3-7 year) needs assessment for the parish and to formulate strategies, both physical and financial, to address those needs and plan for the future of St. Paul’s.
