Flu Shot Clinic and Blood Drive

The Health Ministry here at St. Paul'sis sponsoring a combined flu shot clinic and blood drive this year. The American Red Cross will be conducting the blood drive and Community Nursing Services will provide the flu shots as in previous years.

There is always a need for blood. Each pint donated may help as many as three patients, with 36,000 units needed every day across the country. By holding the drive here on a Sunday, we are offering the congregation a convenient opportunity to donate. For information regarding your eligibility or other questions you may have about travel, medications, health issues, please check the Red Cross website at www.redcrossblood.org. This website provides lots of information about donation.

Regular and high-dose vaccines will be available for the flu clinic. The high-dose vaccine is for people 65 and older since older people are at greater risk of severe illness from the flu and aging decreases the body's ability to have a good immune response to the vaccine. The regular flu vaccine is recommended for persons 6 months and older.

The following insurance is accepted by CNS: Aetna, Altius, Ameriben, Arches, Blue Cross, Direct Care Administrators, DMBA, Educators Mutual, GEHA, Meritain, PEHP, SelectHealth, UMR, United Health Care, University of Utah, CHIP, Medicaid for children, Medicare part B, and some Medicare Advantage Plans

Health Ministry members (Debbie Thorpe, Donna Paulson, Barbara & Kelly Smith, and Lynn Muller) will be available after each service starting to facilitate signing up. Also see the poster in the Parish Hall for more information.

Sign up for our St. Paul's Episcopal Church Blood Drive on the Bloodmobile.

Please sign up so we can supplement the blood not being donated due to the hurricane out East! The Red Cross provides 41 of the 45 hospitals in Utah with blood. So please sign up below to help our neighbors.
