Adult Formation
About Formation Opportunities
St. Paul’s provides a number of opportunities for adults to participate in formation activities throughout the year. There is normally a series in the fall, another for Advent, and inquirers/newcomers class near the beginning of the year, a Lenten series, and a spring series. People aged 12+ are welcome to join us at any of our formation offerings!
For more information about formation offerings at St. Paul’s, please contact Sofia, our office administrator, or Deacon Alison.
Lenten Formation Series
As part of our Lenten practice, please consider joining us as we read and discuss a book by Marcus J. Borg: The Heart of Christianity: Rediscovering a Life of Faith. We plan to meet Wednesdays, 7pm to 8:30pm in the Parlor, February 11 - March 25 with no meetings on Ash Wednesday (February 18) and Wednesday of Holy Week (April 1). For more information, please contact Geoff Silcox at geoff.silcox@gmail.com or Jim Copple at jcopple@sai-dc.com.
For more information, please contact Geoff Silcox. Books are available free of charge in the church office.
Sunday Morning Prayer and Lectionary Discussion
Each Sunday morning, St. Paul’s parishioners gather on Zoom at 8 a.m. to pray Morning Prayer from the BCP and to reflect on the week’s lectionary readings together.
This group is an amazing way to deepen your engagement with the Holy Scriptures and to grow in fellowship with other people at St. Paul’s.
If you’re interested, please contact Sofia in the office for the Zoom link.
