Ministers of Worship
Ministers of Worship are crucial to our worship at St. Paul’s, assisting clergy with leading services and serving other liturgical needs.
“‘For from the rising of the sun, even to its going down, My name shall be great among the Gentiles; In every place incense shall be offered to My name, And a pure offering; For My name shall be great among the nations,’ Says the LORD of hosts.” -Malachi 1:11
Altar Guild
St. Paul’s Altar Guild is a dedicated group of people that plays an essential role in enhancing the worship experience in our church. The Guild ensures that the clergy have everything they need to conduct the service. Their duties include preparing the linens, hangings, communion elements, and flowers that adorn our altar at each service.
The work of the Altar Guild is done quietly behind the scenes, and is vital in creating a warm and meaningful worship environment.
If you’re interested in learning more about the altar guild, please contact Linda Menasco.
Lectors
Lectors read the first and second readings at both services on Sunday, and are responsible for leading the Prayers of the People. Reading the Word of God is a sacred duty and a great responsibility; it’s also a good way to dip one’s toes in liturgical service at St. Paul’s, as most lectors are only called on to read about once per month.
If you’re interested in learning more about the work of Lectors at St. Paul’s or becoming a lay reader yourself, please contact Kristin.
Lay Eucharistic Ministers
Lay Eucharistic Ministers serve at the Table by assisting the Priest and Deacon in the administration of Holy Communion, normally as chalice-bearers. LEMs are licensed by the Bishop to perform this ministry, and normally only serve at the 11 a.m. service of the Eucharist.
If you’re interested in learning more about the ministry of Lay Eucharistic Ministers at St. Paul’s or becoming licensed as a LEM, please contact Deacon Alison.
Acolytes
An acolyte is a servant of the liturgy, one who gives of their time and talent to assist the priest during worship. Kids and youth in grades 3+ are invited to participate in worship by serving as Acolytes!
Acolyting is a great way for youth to learn about the liturgy and participate more fully in the life of the Church.
To learn more about opportunities for your kid to serve as an acolyte, please contact Cindy.
